Tom Lilly was my assistant supply officer and my relief.
He made Rear Admiral in the Naval Reserve. I switched to Intelligence
in the Reserve and retired as a Commander in 1973. Spent 37 years with
the same bank (now SunTrust) in Richmond before retiremen in 1994. Now
active in Second Baptist Church, the Navy League and the Sons of Confederate
Veterans. We kept our grandson first three and then two days a week for
almost four years until our daughter-in-law left the business world to
be a full-time mother and wife in September, 2000. Keeping him was the
best job we ever had.
